The Department of Veterans Affair (VA) system of benefits can be complex and understanding what your client may be entitled to is difficult for attorneys that deal with the VA infrequently, if ever. This program is geared towards assisting attorneys from all areas of the law in gaining a basic understanding of the VA claims system, the different type of benefits that a Veteran or their dependents are eligible to apply for, and the basics of the appeals process. Specifically, this program will cover: Character of Discharge, Disability Compensation, Pension Benefits, Surviving Spouse/Dependent Claims, and the appeals process from the administrative level through judicial review.
