The Kentucky Lawyer Referral Service (KLRS) is a public service sponsored by the Louisville Bar Association that refers callers and web users to local attorneys who have been vetted and meet LBA referral standards. KLRS attorneys are experienced in a broad range of practice areas and clients are referred to only those qualified to handle their specific legal needs.

If you are an individual seeking qualified legal services, or an attorney looking to generate additional income through client referrals, let us help you get started today.

Need a Lawyer?

KLRS attorneys are available in most areas of law and referrals are tailored to meet the client's specific needs. Referrals are free and may be acquired via telephone, Monday-Friday, 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m., or online 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Referrals given are based on a series of questions to help determine the nature of the client's legal matter, and once referred, the client is responsible for contacting the attorney for further assistance. KLRS attorneys agree to give an initial consultation of up to 30 minutes for free; additional fees should be discussed with the referred attorney. Pro bono attorneys are not available through KLRS, but for those who qualify, reduced fee attorneys are sometimes available.

KLRS primary service areas include the following counties: Breckenridge, Bullitt, Hardin, Henry, Jefferson, Larue, Meade, Nelson, Oldham, Shelby, Spencer, and Trimble Counties in Kentucky; and Clark, Floyd, Harrison, Jefferson, Scott, and Washington counties in Indiana. For referrals outside of this area, the Central Kentucky Lawyer Referral Service or Northern Kentucky Bar Association Lawyer Referral Service may be of assistance.

Seeking More Clients?

KLRS offers attorneys an ideal way to generate new business through telephone and online referrals. The service refers clients with specific legal problems to attorneys who are qualified to handle that client's case.

Clients are referred to KLRS attorneys based on geographical area and case type through a computerized rotation system. Therefore, each qualified attorney in a given area has an equal opportunity to receive referrals.

In 2019, attorneys on the service earned a combined total of $1,620,146 through KLRS referrals.
