On Wednesday, October 28, the Legal Aid Society and community partners will announce the launch of Project H.E.L.P (Homeless Experience Legal Protection), an ongoing series of legal clinics designed to facilitate the resolution of legal matters that would otherwise remain unaddressed for people living in poverty.
Volunteer attorneys will assist clients with legal issues such as government benefits, healthcare, housing, life planning, consumer disputes, criminal record expungements, child custody, divorce, petty criminal offenses, and other issues. These clinics will be held at the St. John Center every other Tuesday, beginning November 3.
The Legal Aid Society is also hosting a training for Project H.E.L.P. volunteer attorneys on Thursday, October 29 at the offices of Frost Brown Todd (400 W. Market St., 32nd Fl.). If interested, please RSVP to Neva-Marie Polley at (502) 584-1254.
