A Virtual Training to Identify, Understand and Respond to Signs of Mental Illness

Jewish Family & Career Services will provide LBA members with an opportunity to receive Mental Health First Aid training. This virtual class, open to 20 participants and taught by certified instructors, will provide information to identify, understand and respond to signs of mental illness.
Topics will include depression and mood disorders, anxiety disorders, trauma, psychosis and substance use disorders. Participants in the course complete a two (2) hour self-paced online module prior to attending the six (6) hour certified instructor-led videoconference class. At the conclusion of the course, participants will be certified a Mental Health First Aider.
Mental Health First Aid Training includes:

A two-hour self-paced course

A six-hour instructor-led course conducted by videoconferencing

The opportunity to practice newly learned skills—through role plays, scenarios and activities—making it easier to apply these skills in real-life situations.
