The Jefferson County Commonwealth’s Attorney’s Office implemented a new case management system April 4, which is not expected to impact court dockets or procedures but will enable prosecutors to function more effectively.
“The existing system . . . has been operating for more than fifteen years,” notes Commonwealth’s Attorney Thomas Wine. “It has far exceeded its life expectancy, and unfortunately, its capacity.” By transitioning to the new system during Spring Break week, Wine hopes to minimize potential disruption related to court appearances or production of discovery.
